Scott McLemore Husband & Father/Guitarist/Bassist/Drummer/Artist/Songwriter/Musician

I like to think of myself as an imaginative recording artist who is driven by an incredible passion for self-expression through sound. I also feel that over the years I have developed an innovative style that blends precise realism with abstract expressionism to generate non objective music. I like to use rich guitar tones and strong melodic lines so that my work will appeal to a wide range of listeners. I use traditional methods as well as modern techniques. My music has been a culmination of life experience and deep musical intuition of theoretical design. Although I love to express my vision through sound, I am not bound by the commercial restraints of the pre conceived notions of society.

Timeless Music Pt. 2

In my last blog i was commenting on the music of the late 50's and early 60's specifically that of the R & B genre. Although i find it hard to i must also express my opinion that all music no matter what can be deemed timeless. It really just depends on any and every individuals opinion, preference, or particular mood. I mean if you ask me The Platters music is just as "Timeless" as Mozart's they just expressed themselves differently in different times but human communication through music transpired despite any differences that could be analyzed. I mean some people don't even like music (poor souls), but for those of us that do we all have artists, bands, or genres we may prefer over the other. Although i find it somewhat myopic to not take all forms of music into consideration as being relevant to a certain time, music is music and despite anyone's opinion including and especially my own it is all significant if to noone else but to the artist that created it. Well i suppose that is enough for this particular entry but i just want to stress that everyone is significant and relevant and your opinion matters.

Take care,

Scott

Timeless Music

That old time Rock 'n' Roll

Bob Seger said it best in his classic rock song when he said it's "the kind of music that just soothes your soul." I sincerely love and appreciate all types of music including classical, jazz, and many forms of popular music. However, in 20th century popular music there is a couple of decades that particularly stand out to me. The 50's and 60's rock 'n' roll, R & B, and Doo Wop groups really had an organic feeling of the human soul that has somehow been lost in our current digital age. Music of The Platters, Dion and the Bellmonts, Buddy Holly and The Crickets just to name a few convey a feeling to the listener that cannot be duplicated with any technology of our current music culture. These artist's song's take the listener back in time and flood the listeners imagination with illustrious images of a simpler space and time. I have always joked that if i could sing and play like Little Richard then i would quit my day job and take my family on the road.

Oh well, a guy can dream can't he........
